Cord sampling is a family owned, independent soil sampling business. We are based in Young NSW but can travel nationwide with our custom designed soil sampling rig. With a combined experience in scientific principles, experimental soil sampling, broadacre farming, and precision agriculture, we pride ourselves in our precise and reliable soil sampling services.
Who We Are
Dr. Brooke Ross holds an Honours degree in Agricultural Science and earned her PhD from Charles Sturt University, where she specialised in soil nitrogen dynamics and microbial biochemistry. She divides her time between Cord Sampling and her role as a Research Fellow in soil and crop management at Charles Sturt University.

With extensive experience in both laboratory and field research, Brooke also maintains close ties to her family’s farm near Young. She and her husband, Hamish Ross, are parents to two young sons, Lachie and Henry, whose greatest love is tractors and being outside on the farm.

Hamish brings to Cord a strong background in agribusiness finance and precision agriculture optimisation.
